About the Director Dr. B.K. Vashist, Director, JIMT, is having about 40 years of teaching and research experience. Before this he was working as professor & Chairman, Deptt. Of Economics in Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. He worked there for more than 25 years. He has gained top positions during his academic career. He was associated with eminent academic bodies and prestigious institutions such as UPSC, UGC and number of Universities in different capacities. He was the one who played important role in establishment of Haryana Economic Association, and was elected its founder-secretary, and subsequently, its conference President. He was also member of various prestigious bodies and committees such as Executive Committee of the Indian Economic Association, Haryana State Fee Committee, University Academic Council and Court. He has published research papers in national and international journals of repute, and has also presented the same in national and international conferences. he has also written a book on Economic Growth and planning. His area of research and teaching include economic theory (Micro and Macro) and business finance (Risk Management). He has presented a paper “Agricultural Commodity Futures: analysis of Inter-market relations and Equilibrium Conditions” in the 12th world Congress of International Economic Association held at Buenos Aires. Many students who have been under his guidance are thankful, as they are now holding prestigious positions in universities, civil services and industries due to his guidance and supervision. He is mainly concern with improving the standards of teaching where ever he is working. |
